HAPPY EASTER!

Hey everyone, it's been yet another exciting week here in Uherské Hradiště.

Early last week Elder Webb ran the car into a members car as we were pulling into the Church parking lot, luckily there was little damage and the members were really nice about it.

Late last week Elder Webb got transferred to another area to fill the spot of a Slovak Elder that had to return to Slovakia, so it has just been Elder Davis and I for the past couple of days. Neither of us have our International Driving Permit, so we are now in a walking area. Ha ha. We have been making good use of our shoes walking around the area visiting people and trying to get in contact with some less active members. Also walking to KFC. Ha ha. Walking around has actually been nice because it has given us the opportunity to have some more conversations with people on the streets just as we were walking by. It's also nice because it has given me a greater view and appreciation for the beautiful city here, we have also found some nice "art" and a cool memorial that we wouldn't have otherwise known existed. Ha ha.

For VOS this week we made whips for Easter. They have some... interesting Easter traditions here that I don't think I'll be participating in. Ha ha

Another cool thing this week was Easter Sunday, we had stake conference this week. I think there is only one stake in Czechia, so pretty much every member in the country gathered to Prauge for the conference, it's a pretty big deal here. Elder Davis and I weren't able to attend in person because we don't have a car, but we were able to watch it online. It was all in Czech, so I didn't understand a good half of what was said, but it was still a really good experience. From what I did understand they were talking about the importance of Temples and temple work. I miss going to the temple, I often think of how lucky I was to live so close to the temple back home. The Temples really are such amazing things and they are such an enormous blessing in our lives.

I hope that you have all had a great week and a wonderful Easter Sunday. I hope that you can all enjoy this Easter season by focusing on Jesus Christ and the peace, joy and hope that he offers us through his loving sacrifice and resurrection. Until next week,  Nashledano

  1. Love your posts. Especially about a Stake Conference that is a Country of "Czech it Out" Conference. Our Easter program had people come who had not been there for years and we are having fun doing follow-up. We took a picture of a family of 4 who had not worn church clothes for a couple years. The program was inspiring and uplifting. One of our missionaries got a replacement bike after his first was stolen 3 weeks into his mission. Prayers are coming your way, Chuck & Sorena DeWitt
