Hey everyone, it's been an Interesting week, but that's the great part about being a missionary, it's always interesting. Last week for P-day we went to Prague, Elder Barth and I got to stay in Prague the following day for exchanges with Elder Dodson and Elder Grey. Exchanges are always fun, and you can never go wrong spending time in Prague. I got to spend the day with Elder Dodson, it was a lot of fun. We gave a tour of the church to a guy that Elder Dodson met playing volleyball, he was really cool, had some great questions and even asked for a Book of Mormon before we could offer one to him. Haha. Other than that we just got to do some finding work on Facebook and help out with some of the many tasks that are always going on at the Prague ward building. We had some new missionaries come in from Ukraine, so it was a busy day.
The rest of the week was good, we spent a lot of time out on the streets contacting people. As you can imagine, contacting random people on the streets you are bound to come across some interesting people. One guy that we talked to this week quickly recognized us as missionaries, he told us that he knew all about the restoration, church history and had even read the Book of Mormon. Before we could ask him why he wasn't a member or anything he told us that he was in a hurry and walked away, that threw me through a loop. We did also have a really good contact this week, we had a really great conversation with someone that we found sitting on a park bench and we even got so far as to get a return appointment. I'm really excited and I hope that it goes through.
We had our second lesson with one of our friends this week. She had read a good amount in the Book of Mormon and came prepared with some really good questions about what she had read. We taught her about planting a seed of faith and we taught her how to pray. She told us that she would give it a try, I'm really excited to see the miracles that will sprout from her faith.
That's about it for this week, I hope that you are all doing great. Until next week, čau!
Blessings to you, Elder Starkie!!! We can see that you elders know how to fix your own burgers!!! Put a recipe or two on your blog next time for authentic Slavic food!! I'll try it out...we hope the language is coming along and that the power of the Spirit of the Lord will shine in your countenances! You are doing the Lord's work so, of course, your light is shining in a dismal world before the Savior comes again! Keep Smiling! Love, Sister Snow
